Commitment
Being part of a team requires dedication. Players are expected to attend all team practices and games, as commitment from every individual is crucial for team success. If a conflict arises, clear and timely communication with the coach is essential.
Practice Expectations
Player development happens in practice, making attendance critical. Missing team practices may impact playing time in games. OGH prioritizes skill development, teamwork, and preparation during these sessions.
Playing Time
Playing time is determined by talent, commitment, game situations, and coaching decisions. It is important for parents/guardians to understand that playing time will not be equal, regardless of financial commitment or travel expenses.
Multi-Sport Athletes
OGH understands that some athletes participate in multiple sports. We will work with families on an individual basis to determine if a player can balance their other commitments while being an effective member of their OGH team.
Parent Behavior & Expectations
OGH is committed to fostering a positive, development-focused basketball experience. We ask that parents support this mission by adhering to the following:
Allow coaches to coach—sideline coaching from parents is discouraged.
Players should receive feedback from their coach, ensuring a clear and structured learning environment.
Show respect for coaches, officials, and opponents while maintaining good sportsmanship at all games, scrimmages, and practices.
Be a positive role model, reinforcing the values of teamwork, discipline, and respect that OGH instills in our athletes.
OGH is built on a culture of learning, improvement, and teamwork. We appreciate the support of our families in making this a great experience for every player.
