Coach Jake

Meet Coach Jake Robel

We’re excited to welcome Coach Jake Robel to The Original Hoopers family!  

Coach Jake has been passionate about basketball since the 3rd grade. He was a four-year varsity player at Middlesex High School, starting for three seasons and making a significant impact on the court. After high school, he went on to play five years of Division III basketball at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Despite facing two season-ending injuries in his junior and senior years, his love for the game never wavered.  

Following graduation, Coach Jake transitioned into coaching and is currently the head coach for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls' basketball teams at Von E. Mauger Middle School. He just wrapped up his second season and is excited to bring his experience and defensive mindset to OGH.  

A dedicated Miami Heat fan and a student of Greg Popovich’s coaching philosophy, Coach Jake believes in hard-nosed defense and a gritty—not pretty—style of play. His experience as both a player and coach will be a valuable asset in developing young athletes within our program.
